2019 NFL Draft Big Board: Tiered Top-50

-TIER 1-

The 49ers are in a great position to sit back at No. 2 and draft one of the true blue chip talents in the 2019 class. Now, that doesn’t mean John Lynch should ignore phone calls from teams trying to move up, just that an offer would have to be substantial to trade down. Bosa edges out Williams due to positional value, but I would have no problem with an argument for Q at the top spot.

1. Nick Bosa – EDGE – Ohio State

2. Quinnen Williams, DT, Alabama

-TIER 2-

The next half dozen non-quarterbacks are the players to look for if the 49ers found a trade partner in the Top-10. There is a big drop from the first to second tiers, in my opinion, and I would not pick a player from Tier 2, no matter the need or positional value if Nick Bosa or Quinnen Williams were still available.

3. Kyler Murray, QB, Oklahoma

4. Josh Allen, EDGE, Kentucky

5. Brian Burns, EDGE, Florida State

6. Jonah Williams, OT, Alabama

7. D.K. Metcalf*, WR, Mississippi

8. Ed Oliver, DT, Houston

9. Jawaan Taylor, OT, Florida

-TIER 3-

Many of the prospects in Tier 3 will be first round selections. Ideally, though, a handful are still on the board when San Francisco is on the clock at pick 36.

10. Jeffery Simmons*, DT, Mississippi State

11. Devin White, LB, LSU

12. Devin Bush Jr., LB, Michigan

13. T.J. Hockenson, TE, Iowa

14. Byron Murphy, CB, Washington

15. Clelin Ferrell, EDGE, Clemson

16. Greedy Williams, CB, LSU

17. Montez Sweat*, EDGE, Mississippi State

18. Jerry Tillery, DT, Notre Dame

19. Christian Wilkins, DT, Clemson

20. Hakeem Butler, WR, Iowa State

21. Garrett Bradbury, C, NC State

22. Chris Lindstrom, OG, Boston College

23. Dwayne Haskins, QB, Ohio State

24. Noah Fant, TE, Iowa

25. Dalton Risner, OT, Kansas State

26. Darnell Savage, S, Maryland

27. Nasir Adderley, S, Delaware

28. Deebo Samuel, WR, South Carolina

29. A.J. Brown, WR, Mississippi

30. Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, S, Florida

31. Erik McCoy, C, Texas A&M

32. Chase Winovich, EDGE, Michigan

33. N’Keal Harry, WR, Arizona State

34. Marquise Brown, WR, Oklahoma

35. Dexter Lawrence, DT, Clemson

-Tier 4-

Because it’s a nice round number, this is a Top-50 list. In reality some of the honorable mentions below belong in this tier. I wouldn’t feel great about drafting these prospects in Round 1, but most should come off the board somewhere on Day 2.

36. Andre Dillard, OT, Washington State

37. Juan Thornhill, S, Virginia

38. Johnathan Abram, S, Mississippi State

39. Rashan Gary, EDGE, Michigan

40. Irv Smith Jr., TE, Alabama

41. DeAndre Baker, CB, Georgia

42. Kelvin Harmon, WR, NC State

43. Cody Ford, OT, Oklahoma

44. Amani Oruwariye, CB, Penn State

45. Deionte Thompson, S, Alabama

46. Andy Isabella, WR, UMass

47. Rock Ya-Sin, CB, Temple

48. Justin Layne, CB, Michigan State

49. Emanuel Hall, WR, Missouri

50. Jachai Polite*, EDGE, Florida

Just missed (in no particular order): Drew Lock, Elgton Jenkins, Yodny Cajuste, Riley Ridley, J.J. Arcega-Whiteside, Miles Boykin, Terry McLaurin, Parris Campbell, Sean Bunting, Julian Love, Jace Sternberger, Khalen Saunders, Mack Wilson, Blake Cashman, Taylor Rapp, Joshua Jacobs

*= Injury or off-field concerns could affect draft position
